Great piece! I still have a Force feeling that we're gonna see more of the "Sword of the Jedi" in SOME capacity in the future...not just wishful thinking, but I truly, truly feel that...! ;) :heart: #TheForceLives

I've never read any of these novels, but this is a very nice card. You did a nice job of drawing what Han and Leia's daughter could look like.

Wowzerz, I was actually wondering if ever you'd draw her. Sure as hell glad you did, I've been wanting to see your interpretation of her forever. THX!

I'd be interested to learn why the flowery background was chosen for the Sword of the Jedi; however, I really like the outfit you've chosen for her, and of course your art in general.

To be honest? No reason, because I have zero familiarity with the character as I don't read the novels nor do I plan to. This was just a sketch card commission, and I just wanted to add decorative elements by using flowers.

Thanks for the kind words.

Nice one :)

The elbow and the flowers in the back kind of spoil the image a little bit. Still great, though.

Let the record state:

I *hate* the New Jedi Order novels with the burning passion of a thousand Foreman grills!

They took my childhood (Spent reading Young Jedi Knights), bent it over the barrel and had their way with it with a lightsaber... X_X

I think the writers took a page from the 'How to' book made by the people responsible for the comic crossover series 'Countdown'. 'Hurr hurr! Let's fill it with as many shock deaths as pooshible! Hurr!'

I know a guy who knew the chief writer of that shlock, and he said the Yuuzhang Voong (Or whatever the frak they're called) were recycled from an idea that got rejected by a publisher of D&D books. Same idea, same ships, same theme of biological tools and weapons, same race to a T. What made them think that if it wasn't good enough to a roleplaying game publisher, that it'd be good enough for Star Wars?

Killed Anakin, killed Chewie, killed Ithor, killed Mara Jade... Made Jacen Solo turn, most uncharacteristically, to the dark side... (How original!)

But despite all that, thoroughly AWESOME pic, Aimo! ^_^

Helps me remember Young Jedi Knights and the other pre-New Jedi Order books as they were, before the universe and mythos was taken a thorough dumping on by some brooding emo mama's boy.

If you do draw Jacen, I beg of you, draw him as he was before the violation of all things good and holy known as New Jedi Order came around ^_^;

Erm, she drew Jacen as Darth Caedus several months ago... Not to spoil your fun, of course. I also hated them constantly equating "Skywalker" with "Doombringer".

Well consider yourself lucky: you were introduced to these characters when they were teenagers. The NJO series was my first introduction to most of the younger Jedi Knights...

Sorry to hear that...

Yeah, I don't know what's worse though... Seeing their warped versions as standalones, or seeing the characters you grew up with being ruined by a bunch of emo morons...

Though, you gotta agree, the prospect of Jaina being the first Empress of the new Empire and founder of the Imperial Knights could get interesting... It's probably the only good thing I know that will happen. "Last of the Skywalkers" sounds far less fun.

No. Heh, sorry. No it doesn't. ^_^;

Just sounds like a bunch of shock value to me, to be completely honest.

I'm not a fanatical fan, but I like the books and I like the movie, but I don't read Star Wars books and watch the Star Wars movies for shock value, or even at times, for depth.

I read them because, NJO horsecrap aside, they're consistent. New adventures of all your favorites doing what they do best.

When I feel inclined for depth and drama in a science fiction, I watch Battlestar Galactica.

But not the stunted, emo-driven, shock-value opus of mediocrity that is the whole of NJO.

I consider it to be cut from the same cloth as Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation, namely, expensive fanfiction. Nothing more.

Okay. Now to be honest, I tend to re-read the Thrawn books far more often than any of the later ones...

Couldn't agree with you more on all of that Zuucka, I too spent my youth reading all those books, and despite a few cool things in the later series, I was highly disappointed. Very uncharacteristic of Jason!

But as for the artwork here I think beautiful, I really like the sheen on the pants, and the flowers in the background. Nice expression too!
