I lost empathy for her when she burned that witch alive.

You mean that witch who turned her husband into a vegetable and killed her unborn child?

That witch was just doing what she told her to do, and then she ran in like an idiot. Also I have my reservations against burning as a form of punishment.

Mirri Maz Duur hid the true cost of the ritual from Daenerys and the effect it would have on Drogo. She wasn't simply following orders; she was taking revenge for her people. Maybe she was justified in her hatred of the Dothraki, but Daenerys had stood up for her.

And it wasn't just punishment. A sacrifice was needed to resurrect the dragons.

Oh. Okay. Didn't read the book. But, I thought the dragons hatched because of the fire.
