I would actually say that he is a revolutionary - exactly like the first wave of those guys in Russia, who blew off bridges and railways in order to overthrow the Czar's rotten regime and bring the realm of eternal justice and happiness (they really believed they were doing the right thing).
But more or less, "martyr" version works as well. ;)
